Nordic Eco Shower feels just like a normal shower but uses half the amount of water, thus saving water and energy. It is easy to install – you simply change the showerhead of your existing shower.
The Nordic Eco Shower uses technology developed in Scandinavia to give an effective shower at half of the normal flow rate. Unlike other eco showers which aerate the water to reduce volume and so lower the temperature of the water as air is added, the Nordic Eco Shower delivers good size drops of water at the same temperature as a normal shower. The flow rate is 6 litres per minute whereas a normal shower has a flow rate of 12 litres per minute.
How Does Nordic Eco Shower Work?
The key component to the design and effectiveness of the showerhead is a screw-like turbine device. When water reaches the shower head it rebounds from the underside of the “screw” and is retained in an expansion chamber, where it builds up pressure. When the pressure reaches a certain level, water bounces back and out of the chamber many times per second. This action maximises the effect of every drop, achieving the performance of a much greater flow. Shower pressure and temperature are maintained and much less water is consumed. There is no attempt to give the illusion of more water by filling water droplets with air - just fuller droplets, delivered with propulsion and impact.
Suitability of Nordic Eco Shower
Suitable for mains pressure, pumped or gravity fed showers. Showers fed from cisterns need a head of at least 5 metres, ie the tank needs to be 2 floors above the shower head to give sufficient pressure. The Nordic Eco Shower is suitable for all types of hose and cradle.
