Standby Buster is a remote controlled electrical socket that allows you to switch appliances off completely rather than leave them on standby. The Standby Buster enables you to avoid unnecessary carbon emissions and saves you money too! Standby Buster can save 245kg CO2 and £40 each year (according to a 2006 report from Which, a typical home entertainment system of TV, digital TV receiver, DVD and hi-fi being left on standby when not in use would be responsible for 245kg CO2 a year).
Standby Buster Starter kit contains 1 socket and 1 remote control. The socket can have as many devices as are safe connected to it. Several appliances can be connected using a four or six-way block, up to a combined power use of 3860W.
Standby Buster is recognised by the Energy Saving Trust. To gain this approval, it had to pass a rigorous series of tests as laid down by the Energy Saving Trust including demonstrating that it consumed less than 1W.
